Tajweed Play is an initiative of Al Anhar Online Islamic Academy. We aim to collect only the information reasonably needed to provide accounts, learning activities, progress, support, and service security.
1. Scope of this policy
This Privacy Policy applies when you use the Tajweed Play Android application, web application, public landing website, and related services that link to this policy.
Third-party websites and services have their own privacy practices. Their policies apply when you leave Tajweed Play or use their services.
2. Information we handle
Information you provide
- Account details such as your name, email address, and password. Passwords are stored in hashed form rather than readable plain text.
- Profile information, including an optional profile image.
- Messages or information you send when contacting Tajweed Play or Al Anhar Online Islamic Academy.
Information created through your use
- Lesson progress, play counts, exercise responses and results, scores, completion dates, XP, coins, streaks, achievements, and activity timestamps.
- Offline-content download status and notification read status.
- A randomly generated guest identifier if you choose guest access. Guest activity may be connected to a registered account if you later register using that guest session.
Information from connected services
If you choose Google Sign-In, we may receive your Google account identifier, name, email address, profile image, and verification status as permitted by Google and your settings.
Technical information
Our servers and service providers may automatically receive limited technical information such as IP address, request time, browser or device type, operating system, error details, and security logs. The public landing page also requests public content from our API.
3. How we use information
- Create and secure registered or guest accounts.
- Deliver lessons, exercises, audio, downloads, and notifications.
- Save and synchronize learning progress across supported devices.
- Calculate scores, XP, streaks, achievements, and leaderboard positions.
- Provide password resets, account support, and important service communications.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, protect, and improve the service.
- Meet legal obligations and enforce applicable terms or policies.
4. When information may be shared
We do not describe personal information as being sold. Information may be disclosed only where reasonably necessary:
- To infrastructure, hosting, storage, email, security, and support providers that help operate Tajweed Play.
- To Google when you choose Google Sign-In, and to Google Play when you download or interact with the Android listing.
- When required by law, legal process, or a valid government request.
- To protect learners, Tajweed Play, Al Anhar Online Islamic Academy, or others from fraud, abuse, security threats, or harm.
- As part of an organizational restructuring, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal protections.
Leaderboard features may display limited profile and progress information to other users. Avoid using sensitive information in your display name or profile image.
5. Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain security and records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods can vary by data type.
If an account is deleted, associated data is removed or de-identified as supported by the service, although limited information may remain temporarily in backups, security logs, or records required by law.
6. Your choices and rights
- You may review or update supported profile information in the app.
- You may sign out and revoke the active access token.
- You may use guest access where available, understanding that guest progress depends on the guest identifier.
- You may permanently delete your account through the Profile deletion feature or use our account deletion page without reinstalling the app.
- Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a copy of personal information.
We may need to verify a request before acting on it. Some information may be retained where legally permitted or required.
7. Children and younger learners
Tajweed Play may be useful to younger learners. A parent or guardian should supervise a child’s use and provide any consent required by applicable law. Children should not submit personal information without appropriate adult involvement.
If you believe a child provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can review and take suitable action.
8. Security and international processing
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet transmission, storage system, or security measure can guarantee complete security.
Depending on where service providers and infrastructure operate, information may be processed outside your country. Where required, we seek to use appropriate protections for such processing.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top will be revised when a new version is published. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or another appropriate channel.
